Beethoven's "Archduke" trio....
....not only one of my favourite pieces of chamber music but one of my favourite pieces of music.

That looks like a very nice offering indeed. Vivaldi (obviously) and Marcello I would know but have not heard any of Porta's music.

That was Davis´first of some 4 versions of the Symphonie Fantastique. My own favorite is the second with the Concertgebouw.

I did not know that he did four versions Pepe! I also have the Concertgebouw version.

Yes, the first was with the LSO in the 60´s, the second with the Concertgebouw, recorded in the 70´s, then in the 80´s he recorded it digitally with the Vienna Philharmonic, all these in Philips, and finally, he returned to the LSO [LSO Live] for his final farewell.

Today is the 300 anniversary of an immensely admired composer in the XVIII Century, Niccoló Jommelli, he fell out of fashion in the 19th Century, and he is still awaiting reevaluation, I am sure his time will come.
