lekt, i learn one thing from tweaking.

testing by listening to air, strain, intense, width/height/depth, dry/mellow etc
is not always correct.

jitter+jitter=air
jitter+jitter=rich
jitter+jitter=thin
jitter+jitter=non-intense
jitter+jitter=mellow
jitter+jitter=bigger size
.....
however,

jitter+jitter is NEVER BETTER better micro-details/vibrations!!!
better micro=better everything

learn one trick, anyone can tune better music

i was busy entire week, sorry JC, even didn't touch code. today has review few things in C code. optimized code, use old buffer 256 and didn't use asynchronous multi-thread. see good result.

uploaded lekt.exe v2.89 256

feel sound much cleaner, balance better, like its piano sound. try it and enjoy!

piano is very good. feels more hifi than real. need more body in notes to have real sound.
the weight of notes is best from i can remember.

i could be wrong, but sometimes i think if you make piano real, then drum becomes hifi?
lekt player has most real drum on earth.

never heard a software has real correct drum at the same time has correct real piano.

old mqn.exe2.8x (also new 2.71) focuses on overall music (top-down?). has real piano. drum feels hifi, also ok real.
xa has real vocal. piano+drum are just hifi sound. piano is far from real.

think 2.89 has slight change in overall weight.
soundstage feels different. not sure better.

vocal feels less aggressive, more soft. think this is more correct. i think this is the right direction?

v2.89 256 sound have a little "empty center", i've calling that. need more weight/resolution in center. i found out reason in code, trying adjust its sound texture.

bass is really good. seems no issue
yes 2.89.2 has good rich 3D bass. feels like s4

2.89.1 has similar bass, just not as 3D.

lol.. at this point, quality reaches new level. i don't know which version is correct. time will tell

s4 is thin+rich! funny hehe
thin as in.... density not high.
rich is rich

2.89.2 is rich. density seems well done.

2.89.1 bass 3D less, but depth more.

you are expert for bass. i don't know hehe

since i like s4, i prefer 2.89.2.
2.89.1 feels more correct

if listening very careful, 2.89.1 has tighter timing, cleaner micro.
2.89.2 timing more loose. so, sound is little softer.
2.89.2 little dirty micro, maybe making false 3D?

2.89.1 correct > 2.89.2
for music itself, 2.89.1=2.89.2.

v2.89.2 used method reading file as v1.7. JC, try old v1.7. it not used RAM but sound balance very good, even better v2.4.3. only have bug so need double-click 2-3 times then can run it (forgot set 2 bytes to zero in code, so random software can run, hehe,...). try it, bass good, soundstage OK. now recoding it in C, but balance lesser, with C need align code by other way.

v2.89.1 seem more correct but SQ lesser. will improve it.
