Interestingly I have been trying to schedule in some Glass that I need to listen to but I have been putting it off for some time now. I must bite the bullet and listen soon!

I think it makes a lot of sense to record a work that has never been recorded before, even more than to record yet another La Boheme or Barbiere, but this unfortunately is not the logic of the market. According to the people of Harmonia Mundi, it is a sure thing to rerecord ad nauseam 4 Seasons and Beethoven´s Ninths rather than invest in the symphonies of Mehul for example.

I am far from an expert in these matters Seán but I think that Rubenstein's anything or anyone is magnificent LOL!!

Powerful playing from the BPO under von Karajan. I do not have a full performance of Smetana’s Ma Vlast by these forces; I do not know if they even recorded it but I will have to investigate whether I can get my hands on such a recording if it does exist!

Haydn: String Quartets Op. 54 Nos. 1 & 2 played by the Orlando Quartet....

Perhaps they did, but no composer is comparable to Ludwig van Beethoven in my book.

As much as I love the music of Mozart I could not agree with that statement personally.
