I have it, I remember my not being too keen on it when I bought it, many, many moons ago, perhaps I should return to it.
Interesting....I will pay particular attention to it so Seán.

My jpc delivery arrived this afternoon and I am particularly pleased with this lot I must say.

First and foremost, is this 10 CD set on Hamonia Mundi.

Image

It is beautifully presented and the enclosed booklet contains a list of the musicans on all 10 CDs, this is essential information in my book. There is a sumptuous line up of composers, including JS Bach, CPE Bach and Zelenka and from what I have heard thus far of the Freiburger Barockorchester they really are a very good ensemble.

If you want to get a copy of it, it's on sale on jpc for €17.99:

I have very little of Grieg's output in my collection and none of his chamber works, so I bought this set to get a feel for his music, it's still available on jpc for €2.99:

and last but by no means least, is this lovely set of Ferenc Fricsay led performances. It contains some performances that I have already like the Mozart Piano concertos with the wonderful Clara Haskil.

Bartok: Klavierkonzerte Nr. 2 & 3; Rhapsodie für Klavier &
Orchester op. 1; Musik für Saiteninstrumente, Schlagzeug &
Celesta; Cantata profana "Die Zauberhirsche"

Mozart: Klavierkonzert Nr. 20; Ouvertüren aus "Die
Entführung aus dem Serail", "Die Zauberflöte", "Die
Hochzeit des Figaro"; Marsch der Priester aus "Die
Zauberflöte"; Don Giovanni (Ausz.)

Beethoven: Symphonien Nr. 1, 7, 8; Leonoren-Ouvertüre Nr. 3

Tschaikowsky: Violinkonzert op. 35

Strawinsky: Violinkonzert D-Dur

Mahler: 5 Rückert-Lieder

Rimsky-Korssakoff: Scheherazade op. 35

Franck: Variations symphoniques

Strauss: An der schönen blauen Donau; Wiener Blut;
Ouvertüren aus Fledermaus und Zigeunerbaron
LFalla: Nächste in spanischen Gärten für Klavier & Orchester

Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Sena Jurinac, Maria Stader,
Marueen Forster, Helut Krebs, Geza Anda, Andor Foldes,
Clara Haskil, Yehudi Menuhin, Arthur Grumiaux, Rudolf
Schulz, Margrit Weber,
RIAS SO Berlin, RSO Köln, RSO Berlin,
Ferenc Fricsay - conducting
and now that my wiferhas seen all of these come in I might end up being buried under that lovely patio that Fergus has out the back of his house.

I don't get very excited about many things -- ahem -- but I do really like this set.
