2.81x is very good.
earaches is because clarity is maximum.
some old mqn has same issue. forgot which versions.

maybe reduce clarity by 0.05%? haha

i think earaches is because imbalance, sound in near location at ears, false vibration raises earaches. clarity is correct sound, seems as a bit increase volume, but not earaches.

with this v2.81.x procedure of render loop need release buffer with data before staring loop, so v2.81.6 works normal, without pops. OK, JC, we can use this procedure.
v2.81.6 used some C functions, replaced C++ functions. sound more raw but correct, i think that.

now i listen to 2.79.2, the micro-vibration is more clearly and clean. no earaches.

yes, i like the sound of C > C++.
more direct and raw. better.

think 2.81.6 is fine. no earaches.
