Just got a chance to watch this. Errr, not great, very much of its time in camera angles, etc. If you don't want a plot spoiler don't read on.
Young German graduate hitches to Paris to experience life. Falls for a girl, follows her to Ibiza where she introduces him to heroin. She is more resistive than he is to it. He becomes a hopeless addict, od's and dies. So no redemption so!

Thanks for that Johnny....it's funny that it's the only Floyd reissue I've bought so far (on cd).Waiting on the vinyl version :-) Hard to judge if it's worth buying again - maybe I should record both cd and my own ancient vinyl copy to compare?

Forgetting to post my surround experiences after I got it up and running:

My favourite film perhaps of all time:

Amazing audio and visuals on this BD and if you go for the 5 disc import (region free) you will have all the versions including the "work print". The 'making of' in this set is the most detailed I have ever seen!

A must for any film buff!

have had a mini Hirokazu Kore-eda fest over the past month:

for me, he's one of the finest film-makers working anywhere in the world, today...

looks like no-one has been viewing any films, either. Well, 'Son of Babylon' was on BBC4 last week (watched it on iPlayer)... it would be a bit strong to describe it as the Iraqui 'King Fields' but its a desperately sad an thought-provoking film all the same:

Watched this the other night on DVD. Absolute heaven for a boy brought up on The Feelgoods.
