The Gli Incogniti version is extremely fine, but the competition is so fierce for the 4 Seasons that any of the above could easily claim to be # 1.
It is fabulous Biondi that does it for me.

Biondi is surely a violin god, but then Enrico Onofri former concertino of Il Giardino Armonico is not too far behind. And the wonderful Stefano Montanari with Ottavio Dantone! choices, choices...

Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado is the new darling of period orchestras. He made his recording debut with the Freiburger Barockorchester in Schubert symphonies for Harmonia Mundi, and now Concerto Köln takes him to Archiv for this highly entertaining program of music heard in Madrid at the time Farinelli lived there. There are symphonies by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Adolf Hasse and some arias by José de Nebra sung by Bejun Mehta. It is very well done and Heras-Casado shows himself worthy of this glorious ensemble. Very much recommended!

Very nice album - includes non-Beethoven contributions (I like the Schubert) as well as the master's masterpiece and the only fortepiano recording I have.

I´ve always had some kind of fetish with Liszt´s Faust Symphony, and have dozens of recordings from Beecham to Bernstein, from Solti to Barenboim, and I like them all, but Sinopoli´s is very special, and the playing of the Staatskapelle Dresden is oh-so-exquisite.

Not only the greatest Carmen but one of THE great recordings of the Century. They just don´t do them like that any more.
