lekt wrote:more tested. i think v2.76.3 all things ~correct, very good. only its balance need a bit adjust so bass will have more dynamic range, intense will be removed. prefer this version, JC.
yes. 2.76x has good balance. i can verify it.
it sounds better with timer resolution=0.5ms

0.5ms makes imbalance worse. balance better.
the vibration quantity and clarity and timing has improved by ~5% using 2.76.

timer resolution usually makes things worse. not this time.

[quote="jesuscheung...(need better naming of files. easy to confuse between versions. hehe)...[/quote]

right, JC. next 2 file version will be named v3.x. in feature will be named as follow:
v2.x for 1 file versions
v3.x for 2 file versions
and all 2 file versions will be uploaded into folder "v3 2 file"

uploaded:
lekt.exe1644 v2.77 256 1 file
lekt.exe1644 v2.77.1 256 raw 1 file

improved vibration, balance better (even better than v2.4.3 balance)
now bass have good dynamic range, enough soundstage. all things vibrate in correct air space, so flow is better.
try them and enjoy!

i find new testing method for SQ.

i just realize timer resolution=0.5ms makes sound of good timing better. and sound of bad timing worse.
(intel C++ has complex effects. i yet don't understand it.)

under 0.5ms
2.77.1 raw. easily the winner. very more refined + fine-grained. increased clarity
2.77. messy. decreased clarity

under 1ms
nothing special among software players

under 2ms
sloppy sound among software players

(note: downclocked CPU+RAM doesn't have good timing. don't think 0.5ms can work ... need fast machine.)

many things of sound can fool us in windows environment, sometime good, sometime bad. there's difficult task for tester. always need compare with other versions, and with CD Player as most stability sound. v2.77.x not careful tested, brightness not enough. interesting, raw version have more correct elements

lekt, you have very good testing skills. also very good control of sound. music is better everyday.

more i listen more is 2.4.3's timing very very stable.
try some (french) slow+quiet female vocal, i hear very stable + calm + perfect vocal depth/finishing. can follow every note.
(tested under 0.5ms)

when timing is good. bass is good. clean+rich+airy treble automatically arrives. very very obvious from using 0.5ms for testing software players.

when software players' timing not good, sound maybe airy/rich but not clean.
true clean sound needs timing.

2.4.3 is very very very clean.

EDIT
all raw versions have good timing. think 2.4.3 best timing.
prefer raw

uploaded:
lekt.exe v2.78 256
lekt.exe v2.78.1 256 raw

more careful tested, maybe they better than v2.4.3, JC.
try them!

2.78x better vibration! needs more stage depth- instruments overlap.

EDIT
(i have a hdd formatted to 64k ntfs. possible to make a version that uses I/O read 64k?)
