thank for my CD Player, hehe... its sound is template for lekt player.
v2.76 raw used only one main function, runing by one thread/process, code very simple. as i said, windows audio likes simple, doesn't like much function when external calling and return value affect to sound, maybe these works make more dirty on RAM, not sure. do you know that open/read/close file are enemies of sound, I/O objects are multi functional, makes sound become very bad. but can reduce this affect and improve vibration only by multi class/thread/process. difficult choose 1 file or 2 file model, hehe...
i also prefer v2.76 raw, its sound more true.

unfortunately i lost code of v2.4.3, its sound is best in its "vibration level". i only remember that its code very simple!

what buffer size of v2.4.3 do you mean, JC? i uploaded many versions of v2.4.3, different buffer sizes.

256, 320, 352

256 is like other 256 versions

for my soundcard, 352 is highest res

i was listening to 320. my soundcard has tune issue with upper treble using 320. 320 sounds great actually.

320,640... is evil buffer sizes, i heard other people have treble problems too (using xa).

go c or assembly with I/O?
no need object for I/O.

C++ -> C -> assembly -> 101010

software player design is waterfall model. zero need for object. C++ seems useless.

in the old days, people enjoyed radios. no one really complained. analog was that good.

now, people buy dac, usb card, usb cable, speakers, EM shield, OS, mod amp, mod cable, mod this and that..... omg... i think most people are still not happy!

why? i think the answer is balance...

higher resolution = more difficult to balance.

it is like oil painting vs water painting.

of course, great oil paintings are more 1000x times more $$$. also 1000x more difficult to paint. because of the 'resolution' or the range of colors is available. more difficult to control

almost anyone can make good water painting.

yes, balance is big problem.

uploaded:
lekt.exe1644 v2.76.2 256 raw 1 file
lekt.exe1644 v2.76.3 256 1 file

try them and test balance, tune, depth. i feel v2.76.2 raw vocal better, v2.76.3 bass better.

very very small difference in vocal.
actually prefer 2.76.3. vocal has richness coz better bass.

(need better naming of files. easy to confuse between versions. hehe)

2.76.3 256- depth/width 0.000000001%>norm? vocal has sharpness(or bright?).
2.76.2 256 raw- soft/mellow. vocal feels weak.
2.76.1 256- depth/width 0.0001%>norm.
2.76 256 raw- soft/mellow. vocal is on side of mellow.

2.76 256 raw is good. more mellow. fully natural.
2.76.3 256 is also good. more sharp(bright?) + bigger stage.

more tested. i think v2.76.3 all things ~correct, very good. only its balance need a bit adjust so bass will have more dynamic range, intense will be removed. prefer this version, JC.
