My turntable is sick!

Sometimes just pulling out plugs and putting them in again cleans the contacts and fixes things ..
some people suggest doing this regularly [like every 6 months] to clean the plugs .. they suggest
doing this about 5 times ... [personally I have not botherred]. ..

Can you try a different cable [one of the ones you already have] from phono to amp ?
