Unless I'm mistaken he had a thing going where he would host musicians that he personally liked in his home and sell tickets. Think of having some smaller scale but fab musicians stay over and pay a small concert for 50-80 people. Just sold tickets to cover the few bob for the musician. Often these were bluegrass etc which I think he was into.
That's brilliant. Love the idea.

Although, as I go look this up I can't find any reference to it actually happening.... so maybe its imagined!

Still a great idea! I'm aware of house concerts that happened around D6 as they used to get good deals on wine from me! Mostly trad or string quartet type gatherings. Certainly not for profit events. One to keep in mind.

I remember Pierce Turner doing house gigs, don’t know if he still does.
