Don't want to give a spoiler just yet, but what do you think about D7 sound at cloneys?

Which was the D7?
I spent a very pleasant few hours there, both sonnicly and socially.
Good to chat with Plamen and Georgi too.

D7 was presented on the 1st floor of cloneys shop, in that small room, connected to naim streamer and lavardin amp.
A4 and A7 were in wine cellar, connected to pass power amp directly to chord Dave DAC. Not sure how much would "proper" preamp improve the sound there ...

My honest opinion is that, I wasn't overly impressed from them, ether the room didn't suit them or wasn't fully burned in, or maybe the cables didn't suit them.

I did like those Classic 2/3 though.

I never seem to like any system in that upstairs room. I much prefered the small Rahdo speakers in the back room downstairs.... Tellerium Q cables were very impressive but I reckon the cost of the upgrade in my system would be astronomical. The A4s were really great at the relatively modest cost... Very enjoyable, but wish they'd put the Lavardin system in a bigger room...

The cables were good alright, but still not 100% convinced.
Would love to hear them on my system, but doubt that ever going to happen.

Similar view to Georgi, I liked the Classic Speaker in the big room in the Cellar. Noel played a Sibelius track which was very nice. That was through the CD player but I think the Pass Labs amp really helped also. Heard the smaller floor standers later but for whatever reason they didn't sound great.

Those D7's sounded like they needed a lot more hours on them before you could judge them. The Lavardin looked really nicely finished. Of course being biased I really liked the Jadis I50 downstairs. 10K unfortunately! We will have to have an open day in Pauls to hear the I88. I think KT120's and 150's are bringing valve amps bang up to date in terms of detail and punch.

Really nicely arranged by Cloneys one could have left the Cellar very mellow and fulfilled with the wine and snacks that were laid on. Seemed to be very well attended also.

Ivor the Tellerium cables were wonderful
