Quite a few years back Art Dudley wrote a simple piece in Stereophile about how to demonstrate a system. It was excellent, combining a demonstration first with some (varied) music to point particular details, and then moving on to customers choices. I think it was about 25mins then the customers material. The methodology always struck me as sound, but of course I've long since lost the link to the tracks.

Certainly a shame that some big ego's got between that list of kit and a much more enjoyable evening. I heard the Alexia I's a couple of months back and was greatly impressed. Gripping scale and effortlessly open.
Hopefully you'll get another chance to hear the likes of the Alexx and report back!!
