Good news on the dac, bad news on the dog!

Hurrah! It is working! And working very very nicely. Because the valves glowed more at my mates. I tried unplugging the power lead from my mains filter, swapping it with the one to the PC, which comes off the wall socket.

Valves glowing more and everything playing beautifully. Not sure why, but I will worry about that later.

Thanks for your help guys, really appreciate it, now back to he music!

Worth naming the make and model of mains filter on the threads so as to help others who may encounter similar issues.
Thankfully it sounds like no damage done to the DAC!

It isn't a commercial product, but was designed by a pro. I'll let Lampizator know though. I will measure the outputs at some point, but the PC is hapoy with the feed and the previous CD player was too.

Good to see you got it working ok. I have had power problems in our house since we bought it. The ESB have done work on the road but I still have a situation if I turn on the lights the speakers go quiet for a few moments. Go figure that one out!

That is weird! Music sounds better in the dark though!

Just measured the output on my mains filter and got 222V, which should be ok?

Did you say you flipped the tubes setting or am I misunderstanding?

No nothing to do with the tube setting., but plugging it in to the wall had a similar visual effect
