Does that make us the three wise men or something else?

Nice choice.  If I had the space to accomodate the width of a pair of Quad ESLs or Harbeth M40.1s, I would have bought a pair of either of these to go with my Lavardin years ago.  And the DA88S is a very special piece. The pride that Jadis have in the DA88S is self-evident when you consider that this amp has remained in the company's product portfolio for 10 years without the merest hint of it being replaced. Happy listening, Dave.  This is a destination system for many people.  Pair it with a good digital source to go with your turntable and you're all set.

Early impressions so far is that my vinyl playback has taken a considerable step up. Even some of the Blues LP's that I would have considered a little harsh in the past are a pleasure to listen to now. Very rich sound overall with an absolute stunning midrange. Really cannot find fault with any of it.

CD playback is interesting. Overall highy enjoyable but the odd classical recording sound just marginally flater than the Devialet. I suspect that this is mainly due to the fact that I'm now going through the Arcam CD73 DAC as opposed to the Devialet DAC. That Arcam has been through the wars according to Ivan so it was never a keeper anyway. It was more than up to the challenge as a transport but the the relative shortcomings of its DAC is now showing. So after next month I'll start having a look around at some good CDP's. Not interested in Computer Audio just yet so a big brickhouse CDP would really float my boat. :-). Would love a Wadia but I've heard their customer service is gone to sh*t and they couldnt care less about Ireland as their owners are really only interested in the Russian and Far East markets where they get high sales.

The amp is beast. Photos dont do it justice as to how big it really is. Its wider and deeper than my old Airtight ATM2 and weighs 5kg heavier too bringing it to 40Kg. Sounds quite different too ;-)

Worth taking today off for!

Wow Dave! We need subtitles to keep up. You've kept it French but from one extreme to the other! What beauties the two of them in their own way ;)

Had to rearrange the rack as there was no room in the middle shelves for either the TT or amp. Think I prefer it in view like this. Cant wait for darkness. :-)
Showed you're set up to my wife Dave. She couldn't figure why you need three TVs.

Even though my late father-in-law had ESLs, I've never heard a pair of Quads. Will a REL of some description come into the mix perhaps?

The Jadis is simply gorgeous. Enjoy!

No need for a sub whatsoever Terry. Ample bass already and is in fact better than the Audioplans. As you'd expect from a Quad ESL, its perfectly integrated with the rest of the spectrum. Not gonna shake walls though.
