James, I have a Nap 180 and Nac 102, would there be a problem attaching these to the Quads?, think that's what the widget gizmos from OTA are for, big impedance swings can blow a solid state.

Nope, the widgets clamp the voltage to the treble panels to protect them....
Dingodog - if you want to try out a few different amps, I have stacked quads here and a range of valve amps to try out.....

Fran my understanding of the widgets is to provide a more predictable load to solid state amps. I have them they are wired in series with the speaker cables so either in or out. I tried them with my amp and my daughter who has a good musical ear confirmed they were better without. No prob with valves but safer with solid state to put them in.

BTW got very nice quad history book for christmas.Of course I did have a direct line to santa on this

Tiz will tell you the story about it when we meet up. I think finding new quads out by the bin for christmas will be hard to beat as a pressie

My quad stands are the spindly ones:

So might not be what you want. I think I still have a pair of ones more similar to the Ruperts but I'd have to go rooting for them....

I got the nap-250 from Cloney [over 10 years ago] nd he modified it to be safe with the Quads .. there is some sort of modification that naim themselves recommened that reduces the output voltage of the naim 250. Don't know about the nap-180 but I would check with Cloney [who is a naim dealer again].

James,
Think I'll play safe and leave them attached to my computer in the kitchen at the minute, have them attached to LCD panel and a pair of KEf Q series...use it for throwing you YouTube videos to learn guitar (...still trying!).
Fran,
Thanks for the picture as you said I'd like something like the Ruperts like oak in colour something the colour of your floor there, checking out your 'Flickr' some amazing shots there, seen the stacks lurking in there too looks the business!
Unfortunately I left my happy snapper at work, will fire on a few snaps when I return.
Happy New Year folks...made it to another one (hopefully!)
Later
Harry

Another step into the abyss. They are amazing you would think they would have a stock of them ready for dispatch. The guy I bought the speakers off has been to OTA and seems to know them fairly well. I think people would be amazed at how this place operates and its location but one could have no complaints with what is turned out. Long may they last.
