i have only heard uno in cloneys show room around 1998 a white pair with a jadis orchestra amp
the duo omega has a direct coupled midrange unit as far as i know the bass is active in the uno im not sure about the duo omega
i as others would love the thought of this sort of thing im sure you would need the space - i have quad 57 which need room behind- above and behind you or you are not getting the whole picture
a lot of horn loudspeakers have the word colouration associated with them this is unfair it is usually the case that they are showing up the colouration of the amplification that you have not heard before
this duo omega would be magic with some of the single ended triode amps i have 2 a type 45 amp at 2 watts and a 6a3 amp at 4 watts the type 45 valve was used in usa stand up radio and wurlitser juke box and the 6a3 valve is the same as the 2a3 but opeates at 6 volt my 6a3 amp is also switchable for 4 volt use with px4 valve which is an old uk triode used in stand up radio

So this place would seem to be within crawling distance of my office. I wonder how they'd feel about me trundling in to have a listen? I'm unlikely to be a purchaser any time soon!

(Which leads me to my next question: how many people in Ireland these days are likely to be purchasers? Are there enough people to run a business based on one brand? Am I missing something?)

In any case, I wish them well!!

I remember adoring the Avantgarde Unos when I heard them at Cloney's years ago: on that occasion they were powered by a Pass Aleph power amp. Later I was next on a waiting list to hear a second-hand pair, but the guy just before me bought them and they never got to me! I'd say that's over ten years ago now and I've been heard a lot of different gear since then (and changed my own several times), so I really have no idea how they'd match up now, but they certainly left a good impression. I've seen lots of reviews since then, all very positive.

Cloney's made a big thing of them when they got them in first, but then didn't have them any more: I wonder why?

Looks like someone else has the agency now - so it might well be some background business decision?

Lovely speakers, but not subtle by any means.

I was placed (like an idiot) in front of them in the front room in Cloneys and had Rammstein blasted at me.
They were powered by a 3 or 4 watt Graff - blew me away, left a lasting impression.
