What's a posh fish????

One that's well 'elled? One that got rich because he's shellfish? The world's his oyster?

These are aimed at the home theatre market I think, thats why they're being sold as singles....
That's why I said in my initial post: "An over hyped, overstuffed speaker that's trying to be all things to all men? Too good to be true??" So the question is: can they do justice to home theatre and hi fi. I don't give a jot about it's home theatre capabilities but I am intrigued what it will do for the humble hi fi system....Also the price is a bit misleading. Still $2500 for a pair of floor standers with subs and ribbon tweeters which behave like an accordian has to be viewed as a double fish supper bargain ;-)) Finally another thing that worries me is it's prodigious bass - it's claimed to go down to 16 Hz!

Gave these a good listen today but they didnt do it for me at all. All those drivers didnt sound very well integrated and there was a distinctive colouration to the sound. By far the least impressive room of the day.

that's always my first thought when I see multi driver designs. No drivers at all... that's what you want ;)

My thoughts exactly :-) Wasn't impressed at all, at all. Didn't like the finish either, especially considering it's 2.5 k price tag! The only thing in it's favour was the slightly reticient but sweet sounding ribbon tweeter which was a blessed relief after the System Audio, specifically the Master Ranger, onslaught! Though the new black marble effect €599.00 SA speakers sounded fine with the usual tweeter anomalies especially in the mid range. What is it with modern speakers???

Oh those were the speakers with the Lumen amp and nice TT? Yeah, the speakers were shite. The guy in the room was very annoying too. he decided to give me an unsolicited sermon on Valve Vs SS amps but instead of turning down the awful music he just shouted over it. I think I left while he was in mid-sentence.
