Selling sealed or secondhand LPs to record shops in Dublin

Just wondering has anybody recently or ever traded in sealed or secondhand LPs with Spindizzy Records, Freebird Records or the Record Spot?

If they have what kind of money do any of them offer, either cash or a trade-in?

I usually trade in used vinyls at Spindizzy. They also offer cash but in that case they will be evaluated a bit less of course. I was doing the same with CDs, but now they offer less than 1 euro so I prefer to sell them on Adverts.
I tried Freebirds for some used CDs in the past, but my experience is that Spindizzy is less picky.
Spindizzy can also give you a voucher for trade in if you don't find anything interesting in the shop; and you can use it on their website.

The reason I ask is, that secondhand vinyl is getting quite expensive as is new vinyl. From what I am hearing most of the shops will still only give the same rate as they've always done. Surely if the price has doubled, trebled in some cases then secondhand vinyl should also go up.

At the local record fairs, the price of secondhand vinyl has gone through the roof.

I can only guess record shops are applying the rule of supply and demand. And while many customers are young guys willing to invest their money in the vinyl format, second hand supplies are mostly coming from older generations (pre millenial) who are most of the times getting rid of old and unused records that don't have any value for them anymore.
Can sound a bit opportunistic, but we should not forget that the independent record shops suffered long dark days during the gold era of the CD, and many of them had to permanently close.

When I was buying a lot of vinyl, (late 70's - 90's) I reckon that I was paying about €6.50 - €7 an album. According to the CPI inflation index this equates to between €27-€29 today. Maybe it's an age thing, but €27 sounds a lot to me, even though it's an equivalent price. My main source of listening these days is streaming through Tidal.
I went to a record fair in the Royal Marine in Dun Laoghaire a year or so ago and I thought the asking prices were ridiculously high for second hand vinyl. However, trade seemed to be brisk, so what do I know?

I never wavered in my love for the good old vinyl LP, through the CD era I stuck with vinyl. I never saw the day when the price of vinyl would actually be the catalyst for my enthusiasm wavering, especially as most vinyl is mastered from digital files.

I would say that if you trade in a standard second hand vinyl (no collector stuff) in very good conditions you can expect 5 to 7 euro. I recently received a voucher of 12.50 euro for 2 records: Dire Straits' Making Movies and a modest copy (red vinyl printed in the Philippines) of Pink Floyd's Animals.
We could try to create a private equal exchange market here (no money involved, simple 1:1 exchange of used records). I would probably avoid the hassle of posting them (and this would limit the possibilities) but I am open to discussion.

I used to trade-in all the time at Freebird Records mostly.

I saw a secondhand double LP of Tom Petty & The Heartrbreakers Highway Companion, asking price €55.99. Now I would absolutely die if I traded that LP in and got €10-12 for it. Hence my question.
