I picked up Sonny Rollins on Impulse! in Golden Discs, reduced from €50 to €26 a steal! It is a US reissue from Acoustic Sounds... beautiful jacket, quiet vinyl and the music is sublime!

Re: Jazz - What's your bag, man?
Finally.
A great album and test disk but I was never able to get a really good recording/pressing. The CD wasn't bad but it fell short... various electronic files were erratic and simply "wrong". A vinyl copy I picked up was obviously taken from a CD or similar...
What arrived today is a proper vinyl release. On Verve, via Acoustic Sounds Series manufactured by Quality Record Pressings on 180gm vinyl.
It's a HQ gatefold sleeve as well but that's just nice for those who like that sort of thing...
This is why I love music 🎶

I have the "obviously from digital" pressing and it's super disappointing. Might have to look for this.

Spindizzy have this at €40 and it's well worth it. The difference is massive!

Re: Jazz - What's your bag, man?
I was considering it myself as well, but AllMusic only gave it a 2-star review! It is a great price compared to Tower Records €45!
Re: Jazz - What's your bag, man?
The first few lines of that review said enough. The "reviewer" had a problem with tracks chosen in 1964. An absurd notion.
Here's a review by someone who knows what they are talking about.
