That was my second LP purchase way back in 1973 at the tender age of 16 and of course I love it. Clark Terry and Johnny Hodges really shine on that album.

A cornerstone of any jazz collection and, if I could take a single Louis recording with me to my desert island, it would have to be the immortal Potato Head Blues. These recordings - as well as those by Jelly Roll Morton - are the bedrock upon which jazz was built.
I agree with you Paul.

Lovely ACT label compilation from Qobuz. A lot of great talent out there.

BTW new DAC (Denafrips Ares II) is a big improvement over the Chord Mojo that I previously used. Much less "processed sound" and great sound stage in a nearfield setting.
Both the album and the DAC are highly recommended.

Tone Poet/Blue Note production - remastered from the original 1963 analogue tapes and sounds incredible.

Superb album.
Great liner notes too - an insightful history into early UK bop/postbop

Both respectfully recently remastered from original analogue tapes - on vinyl of course.
