What's your experience with power conditioners / regenerators, is the power here in Ireland "good enough" and how much cleaning of EM noise affects the sound?
Some equipment in this category is really expensive (€1000+) so not sure if its worth it if it costs more than speakers, but some chi-fi is fairly affordable (https://www.ebay.ie/itm/YAQIN-ML-1200-6 ... SwXeJYEczt), even has some decent reviews (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIhVYvLpouk)

Re: Power conditioners
In my opinion and after trying two similar products, one costing 40 quit and the other around 180, I'm done with that kind of snake oil. Overall sound off my system, with the two power conditioners, become more dull and lost a bit of transparency, so they are sitting in my shed, for when I need spare extention lead.
That's from me. :)

Re: Power conditioners
I have used a Power Inspired AC Regenerator. Have it disconnected currently. I like the logic regenerating the voltage to ensure you are getting a clean 230V. In my house testing the supply it fluctuates between as low as 214 to average 218 and sometimes around the 222V mark.
Jury seems to suggest using it on sources is best. I think a variety of things help systems. To what degree is very difficult to quantify. But no 5k power conditioner is going to make a cheap amp sound like an expensive Class A amp.

Used one for years on sources where I found it effective, cleaning things up. Definite no for me on amplification, as said above it just sucks the life out of everything.

Re: Power conditioners
Those are all conditioners, which are just "cleaning" the noise. But there are also regenerators, like PS Audio Power Plant, and those are doing AC>DC>AC conversion (and are basically power amps). Is there some other company also offering regeneration, or that exclusively PS Audio thing, maybe patent?

Re: Power conditioners
There are some companies, e.g. StormTank 5000 (for ridiculous money) offering solutions.
If you want to pursue pure3 sine wave generation you might want to just look at commercial/industrial UPS that provide pure sine wave regeneration. They will be a lot cheaper but I believe are doing the same thing that PS Audio does.

Not something I've ever given any thought to but I think your right. I unplugged my amp from the conditioner (a respectable enough Consonance one) and plugged it directly into the wall socket. I think it's an improvement... not enough to be absolutely convinced but it does seem to have more clarity.

For my money, isolation gives the best "bang for buck". From recycled mouse mats, cork sanding blocks etc right up to commercially produced isolation feet/pads.
