To finance the acquisition of Tony's ESL57s, I have to sell off my beloved current system.
First on the block is an LP12 in excellent condition with an Origin Live motor (acquired to facilitate easy play of 45rpm 12 inch singles but I understand that this also significantly improves overall performance).
When acquired, this came with a Grace 707 tonearm. I brought it to Cloney to fit a Linn Adikt cartridge and their service guy (Frank?) who then serviced it swapped this out for what I think is a Rega tonearm because the Grace didn't fit the Adikt (or something along those lines).
I swapped out the Adikt for a basic Ortofon stylus because I believed the Adikt needed a new stylus and I didn't have funds.
Everything else is original - I'm the second owner, I believe it dated from the 80s.
Given the upgraded motor and the inclusion of an Adikt cartridge, I think 1000 represents a fair price but open to thoughts on this from the experienced Tir community.
Thanks
Conor.

Could you add a picture or two? With LP12s it's important to know what innards it has, bearing etc.
Did Cloney keep the original tonearm or do you also have it?

Hi there. Will post some photos later. Cloney (or the guy that serviced it) held on to the original tone arm (or may well just have dumped it).

I hope he gave you trade in value for it, it's a decent tonearm.
Would love to see some pictures, maybe including the sub platter and bearings so we know what we're dealing with. There are quite a few iterations of the innards of the LP12, and they will affect the price.
