Its a complete dac, although I think some of us plan to remove the dac it comes with, and replace with something better.

It looks like the best route to acquire this is for you guys to individually order the cased SD player through Aliexpress.
I've talked to Wendy & through Taobao order, there's only a very minimal discount available for 6-7 unit order (the device is already discounted) - about 20 Yuan - which would be taken up by the shipping costs to Wendy's Chinese address.

The unit weighs something like 4Kg so shipping costs to ship to individual addresses is the same as Aliexpress

Ordering from Aliexpress would cost €96 + €35 shipping - same as it would work out doing it through Taobao €132

My "unboxed" sd player made it to the US. For some reason, it shipped to the east coast.

Should have it next week, then I'll have to start getting serious about hooking it up.

the dac and ps of the boxed unit is unknown............
although im sure it could be worked into something worthy with some modding
the chances of it been better stock than the well reputed dacs some of us have is slim imo
however the reason were here is for the potential of the digital side to replace, better and simplify our previous digital source the extreme audio pc

right if that's the story ill put the cased version on the long finger or at least till were mostly past the development stage
chances of a customs bill is quite likely too
probably will put an 1121 soekris in one when the time comes or build new box

ill take another 38$ board as a spare in mean time
