You seem well impressed Fergus. I do really like this type of music too so I've just ordered this one.fergus wrote:Telemann – Tafelmusik, Production III played by Musica Antiqua Koln/Goebel....
It took me a long time to get this set but it certainly was worth the wait....the playing and presentation was superb as one would expect from MAK. This set is truly a welcome addition to my collection!
What are you listening to?

That is a wonderful CD. I'm looking forward to further volumes: Vivaldi wrote tons of Bassoon Concertos: no-one knows why!DaveF wrote:

What was that like Dave? I only have a limited selection of those works in my collection.

Liszt – Années de pelerinage, disc 1....
There is indeed very fine playing here particularly in the more quiet and reflective moments.

Re: What are you listening to?
It's probably my favorite version of these works Fergus. I also have a version by Richard Egarr with the AAM and its really good too. The above though just about edges it for me. The organ that Handel himself used is on this recording.fergus wrote:What was that like Dave? I only have a limited selection of those works in my collection.

Re: What are you listening to?
A lovely mix of modern strings and period brass makes this a very interesting recording of some of Mozart's best symphonies. I finally have a Wadia 861i in my system for a trial period so I'll be going through a wide range of recordings over the next few days. If it makes a balls of Mahler, forget it!

Agreed, there would be no point in having it then. [wink]Ciaran wrote:Good to know you have your priorities straight! :PDaveF wrote:If it makes a balls of Mahler, forget it!
