Ash Design Cosmic 4 AV rack in very good to excellent condition. A beautiful piece of furniture and "sounds" fabulous (inspection welcome). This stand cost me €800 new and would be well over €1200 to buy something of similar quality now. Ash Design stands were used by several high end manufacturers at shows for a period in the mid-2000s until the company went into liquidation. I am only selling because, believe it or not, I needed a slightly bigger stand! Looking for €400. I also have a sand box (not shown in photos) which I made specifically for the stand. The stand sits into the sand box and it offers an extra layer of isolation. I will throw this in for free if the buyer wishes to take it also (it will just need to be filled with dry sand).
Stand can be dismantled to pack flat but, for obvious reasons, I would prefer collection, as it is, from Stamullen, Co. Meath, but I may be able to meet somewhere for genuine buyer. If it is really the only option I can look to send by courier but I would expect it to be quite expensive. Obviously my kit in the photo below is only for demonstration purposes (-:

Specification:
Stand size: Width 1100mm; Height 680mm; Depth 560mm
10mm toughened glass shelves (x4) Each shelf size: Width 970mm; Depth 500mm; Thickness 10mm
Solid maple hardwood front
Non-magnetic powder coated metal frame
Brass sockets for shelf pegs
Stand is fully modular with 2 adjustable middle shelves (can be moved/added/removed as desired)
High quality floor spikes
Very heavy (not sure of weight) but must be over 40kg

Hi John, I don't know and I am unable to find out as Ash Design went out of business several years ago so there's no way to check. Typically a 10mm tempered piece of glass of a similar size can carry a load into the 100s of kilos. The very top and bottom shelves on the stand are supported by the metal frame and hardwood front so these will carry a lot of weight, I would say 100kg or more. The two middle shelves are supported by metal posts which insert into brass nuts in the metal frame and wood. I am comfortable to say they support 50kg each at least as I've just tested them with that weight. There are not too many components out there that weigh anywhere near those levels and of course I am happy for you to test this for yourself. This is a very, very solid, stable and high quality stand.

Bump. It's taking up space as I've already bought the replacement. Make me an offer before I put it on (m)Adverts.ie or let it go to the UK via eBay!
