I thought that I would buy at least one more version of the Sibelius Violin Concerto. I already have the following versions….
Accardo + London Symphony Orchestra / Davis
Chung + London Symphony Orchestra / Previn
Ferras + Berlin Philharmonic Orch / von Karajan
Heifetz + London Philharmonic Orchestra / Beecham
Heifetz + Chicago Symphony Orchestra / Hendl
Kavakos + Lahti Symphony Orchestra / Vanska
Lin + Philharmonia Orchestra / Salonen
Little + Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra / Handley
Oistrakh + Philadelphia Orchestra / Ormandy
Oistrakh + Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra / Rozhdestvensky
Spivakovsky + London Symphony Orchestra / Hannikainen
I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for this work that is not listed above.

I am afraid I have nothing to add to that lovely list Fergus suffice it to say that the Oistrakh and Chung are first rate.

Re: Sibelius Violin Concerto Recommendation
I also like young Vengerov in TELDEC, a brilliant performance, and even Anne Sophie Mutter unlikely paired with the Dresden Staatskapelle.

Thank you for that Pepe; I do like Vengerov as a performer.

Re: Sibelius Violin Concerto Recommendation
I read somewhere recently that Sibelius told Ormandy that his preferred performer of his Violin Concerto was Heifetz.

Re: Sibelius Violin Concerto Recommendation
Very probably, Sibelius died in 1957, Heifetz was hot then.
