A new Naxos CD of music by Taiwanese composer Gordon Chin. His excellent and colorful Cello Concerto and very dramatic Symphony # 3 "Taiwan". The Kansas City Symphony premiered his Double Concerto (which the orchestra comedians dubbed "The Double Chin") and recorded it a few years ago for Naxos. Not well known out side Taiwan and Asia, but a really inventive, colorful composer.

Holy moly, what an ensemble! When they reach a crescendo they don't do it by half. This is fabulous. That said, I still prefer the Fabio Biondi/Europa Galante recording of the Four Seasons.
