Lunchtime recital in Sandford, 24th July

Post by Diapason »

Hi folks, apologies for the shameless self-promotion!

I have an organ recital coming up in Sandford Church (here) at 1:10 on July 24th. It should last roughly 40 minutes, and the programme is as follows:

Dietrich Buxtehude
Praeludium in D major, BuxWV 139

Johann Sebastian Bach
Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr, BWV 663

César Franck
Choral No. 1

Derek Bourgeois
Serenade, op 22

Dezsö d'Antalffy
Sportive Fauns (Scherzo After Böcklin)

Admission is free, with donations to the church organ fund "welcome"!

Unfortunately that venue is just too far for me for a weekday lunch get away Simon so regretfully I will not be able to attend that one. That is unfortunate as I would have liked to have heard a different organ in a new venue. I wish you the very best for the day.

Thank you, gentlemen. Don't worry, there are a few more bits and bobs over the next while. I'll be playing a few pieces at the Unitarian church in Stephen's Green for Culture Night in September. The organ's in the process of being rebuilt and this will be the first time the new and improved instrument will be heard. Details to follow.

Right, yesterday I broke a bone in my ankle so playing the organ is out for a while. I won't be giving this recital after all!
