CD 3 from this set incorporating Symphony No. 3....
Symphony No. 3 has a wonderful menacing opening with snarling brass and Scriabin’s writing for brass is a feature that I have enjoyed throughout my listening to this set.

So, checked out Drumming and I neither loved it or hated it but found it very interesting. In the opening section I found that the lack of tonal variety due to the writing for only one type of percussion instrument was a problem for me. I understand that one of the elements of minimalism is a focus on rhythms but I found it much more aurally interesting when the marimbas and vocals entered.james wrote:
