Re: Bowers & Wilkins dm220 customised photos
Ah Christ they are absolutely stunning! Well done lad :)
Oh and welcome to the forum. We need more people like you.....
Re: the Royd Minstrels: I remember in the very early days of my Croft's that Glenn's right hand man at the time recommended these very highly indeed. In fact, if I remember rightly, he said they were simply the best modern speaker he had ever heard! Believe it or not they could be had for pittance from, of all places, Richer Hi Fi here in Dublin! I've always wondered if they sounded as good as he said? I myself own a pair of vintage Castle Howard's which I bought back in '94 from Cloney Audio. It's been a rather frustrating experience trying to 'upgrade' them since 2009! I've heard them all, from Spendor to Harbeth, System Audio, JMR's, Sugden, KLM etc etc.
They're not perfect. What speaker is? But they have a beguiling way with music and being transmission loaded they do a beautifully and naturally weighted bass. The upward facing driver helps too ;)

yes the minstrels are a really superb little speaker, they are tiny little thing. really warm, big sound, side bass ported. really cool looking. the soundstage is very good.
my celestion ditton 44's are something else also, close your eyes and youd think the band were in the room with you. special speakers. another pair i sold a few weeks ago were B&W DM2a's, and if you like your transmission line with detail, these are pretty amazing. for big rooms really. the minstrels are perfect for apartment living i think
