This is a very fine performance of the youthful Symphony by Bizet. It is well played and directed, the slow movement is quite haunting and the outer movements are driven but never rushed.

There are 11 pieces by Jacques Duphly and 5 pieces by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier on this CD. All of the music is quite melodic and very enjoyable and both composers’ music are played on very pleasant sounding instruments. The Duphly is played by Jos van Immerseel and the Boismortier is played by Laurence Boulay.
