Might have a go at the linear power supply to memory next weekend to see if we can eeekk some more improvement out of the audio hardware.

Great you made it with Core in RAM now as well!
Give the linear power a try, it is a clear improvement. I have in between 3 single linear power supplies running one for CPU only, SSD only and RAM 3.3V only. Every single step has been an improvement but I learned that using different sources for every single input reduced noise even more.

there was many experiments
providing clean power to as many devices or components on the motherboard was always a sure bet to get a bit of Sq
I've tested providing 1.2 to 1.5v directly to ram by removing a choke on the mobo and injecting at that point
providing 3.3v isn't as good because the on board regs still have to convert it with switching mode dc to dc converter to 1.5v or what ever you set it to in the bios
I actually found 1.3v ish to be optimal at 800mhz but I suppose its trial and error

Yeah Nige,
I have learned a lot from these and other post. I followed carefully your experiments with batteries to get a better understanding of the power layout. Injecting RAM Power directly might be next step, but to be honest I am not that good in soldering and understanding the circuits on the mainboard. Even more I fear to destroy the many layers of the mainboard....
I am less than a year on this exercise now, trying to find the logical next big steps and finally there will be more and more finetuning ;)

how are the drivers modded, is it something you do yourself ? Is it just to make them compatible with the sonicweld ?

There seem to be a number of reclocking and usb improvement devices which should reduce jitter eg the schiit wyrd, ifi gemini cable, purifier etc. Does anyone have experience with these and do they make players sound the same ?

helps surely but the software still matters
pc power should not be going into dac/spdif/i2s converter simple as that

isolators work well, because theres much noise in most systems
if you can remove enough of the noise makers there not really needed

all those power units are is batteries and a usb cable with seperate +5v not really rocket science

seems a more natural sound than what i was im using
not sure if the same amount of detail is there
overall seems better

What version is that? I thought the latest .24 and .25 controls were the latest? If not can you send them over to me please
I can test that track we used on those white speakers sunday and see how it sounds
