Cheers Seán. I have some gaps in my collection which I want to fill sooner rather than later. I will continue looking for recommendations on certain works and composers into 2015.Seán wrote:

Re: Recent Purchases
Once again congratulations Fergus. I am on the hunt for a few cds to to supplement my existing stock and to fill gaps in my collection. I saw that set on jpc but to be honest I wasn't tempted. I know you like Suzuki, enjoy.fergus wrote:My new Bach Cantata set by Suzuki finally arrived today....

Cheers Seán. It is not that I particularly like Suzuki's versions of the Bach Cantatas - He would be my third preference after Gardiner and Herreweghe. However, as I had all of the previous sets in the series, the completist in me could not pass it by, particularly at the JPC price in December; also the other sets in the series now sell for large money, up to £200 each set.

You forgot? Shocked and stunned! Shocked and stunned I say. My dear Fergus, THAT is the important one. Well I would say that wouldn't I: as I ordered it yesterday. Enjoy.fergus wrote:I forgot to mention that along with the Suzuki box set I also purchased this one from JPC....
I have a yearning for light forces these days and am really enjoying my journey through the Mozart symphonies. I have a two cd set of the Paris symphonies and have been on the lookout for the rest of Brüggen's (and the Orchestra of the 18th Century) recordings of the Haydn symphonies for the last few years so I am delighted to be able to get a copy of it. It is time for me to revisit the wonderful world of Joseph Haydn.
