I am not really a fan of computer enhancement of the image but I have been playing around with this image this evening and tried to keep things relatively simple....

Thank you Fran. I invested a considerable amount of time and efforet in my photography in days gone by. This thread, I must admit, is slowly reigniting my interest; and I know that I am not the only one in this position. It is good to be able to display one's work without the inane comments of so called expert "judges" which were a constant irritation to me in my club photography days.

Today's offerings are three architectural subjects....
This one would definitely have benefitted from Adrian's panoramic camera!

This one is of Liberty Hall and is one that I always had a soft spot for for some reason....

What I liked about this one was the way that the imposing pillars dominate the person and also haw the person is, in a way, echoed in the top left hand corner. The composition was deliberate but I was constantly looking for the appropriate angle and was afraid that my presence would make the guy uneasy and that he would get up and leave before I took the shot. I only got one frame before I left him be.

Re: the photography thread
Great work Fergus. I particularly like #3 with the columns and the fella reading - very classic look and holds interest excellently. I agree on #1 to an extent - but you have lovely light there. I wonder if taking the processing further and giving it a holga look with extreme (dark) vignetting would be another way to present it.
I've been having much better than expected results with a pano pinhole camera. So although the negs are too big for my enlarger, I decided to contact print them. It took a session or two to get to grips with it, particularly dodging and burning blind! Anyway, I finished them up and dry mounted them yesterday. I'm fairly happy with the results - these are bound for various print exchanges I'm involved in.

Do or do not, there is no try

Thank you for the suggestion Fran; I may indeed give that a try.Fran wrote: I agree on #1 to an extent - but you have lovely light there. I wonder if taking the processing further and giving it a holga look with extreme (dark) vignetting would be another way to present it.
