This is perhaps Bernstein´s finest opera recording. He didn´t want Janowitz as Leonore, he preferred Gwyneth Jones, but with that hair-raising vibrato I couldn´t agree. Janowitz gives a very dedicated and beautiful sung Leonore, and she doesn´t lack power. Everybody else is equally good.
