Nice shot there Fran, kinda unusual shooting vertical, I have yet to try that approach yet.

Fran wrote:I do indeed Fergus - either an ND grad, or sometimes I use a ND grad in orange which gives a bit of boost to the contrast in the sky - although then with less of a ND effect. I just always find typical irish light grey skies hard to make good in a print - you get that white out unless you burn in very hard.
I used to leave an orange filter on the lens constantly when I was shooting B/W Fran. The eye got used to it rather quickly. Agree on the skies totally and always found that excessive burning in looked too false and unreal; changed the whole tonal balance of the picture also.

Be careful of the old killer flare if you are including a lot of sky Adrian; lens direction could be important there!

Ye Olde Ilford.... just as well you asked... coz I had to look it up.

The Belfast City Hall is Digital... I indulged in a Fuji X Pro 1 for Christmas, as they were throwing in two prime lenses as well I thought I would give a rangefinder a go. On a different note Birmingham cameras have a second hand Fuji XM1... with two zoom lenses.. 15 to 50 and a 70 to 200 zooms... all for 499. Each zoom new costs 499!!!! So there you have it... two zoom lenses, plus a pocket sized camera body (with wireless) for the price of one new zoom lens.

I don't understand the camera world anymore... it's like they are trying to give stuff away for free these days.

pan f is very fine grained.... once you have the light. Given the size of your neg (and lens quality) you have massive information in there. Did/do you have an enlarger that would do 6x17?

Echo comments on camera business. I think its just what they think people will pay....
