Since I discovered the music of Evaristo Felice Dall´Abaco thanks to recordings with Concerto Köln and others, I looked for this Dynamic release with no luck, it has been out of print for many years. I discovered that Amazon sold it through third parties but didn´t ship to Mexico. So I sent it to my brother who lives in Boston, he came for the holidays and brought it to me. Finally it´s on my CD player after some 10 years of looking for it.
Dall´Abaco composed rather little, some 60 works survive, but so far everything I have heard of him is very fine, and so are these gorgeous violin sonatas. Rabbi Fabrizio Cipriani has played with most of the great Italian baroque ensambles including Europa Galante and Giardino Armonico, and for many years was concertmaster of Il Seminario Musicale. Like Biondi´s and Onofri´s his tone is warm and very beautiful.
The long search was definitely worthwhile.

That is a nice story about persistence finally paying off. I have waited and chased down recordings is a similar fashion but I have not had to wait that long thankfully.

It´s a choral tour de force Fergus, no wonder William Christie is performing them again this year.
