Here is what I have found out on no sound from the dev version:
if I play it after starting the PC, then I get no sound; if I play some other version and then the dev version, it plays ok.
In my system, the dev version SQ is more detailed and less harsh (quite rare!).

the pin is supposed to go to acquire state, pause state and then run, but I'm just going to run which may be causing some issues, but it means less code.

In my case what happens is just that sometimes I need to past it twice to make it play. At first attempt there is no sound, so Ctrl+X (close window), Ctrl+C on file again and then play again and then it works. Sometimes is like that not always.

When I began today I played 8.92 avx2 first just to make sure it and 3.74 were working and then switched to dev aa version and it played without problem , maybe if I had gone straight in I 'd have had the same problem as AA.

To make life easier type:
mqndevinfo.exe >> SomeFileName.txt
in command line.
Your device identifier will be saved to SomeFileName.txt, so then you will be able to open it and copy/paste it here.

uploaded control 3.74, a bit mellower

had a setting in 3.73 that was giving a harsh effect, it's also used in mqnplay, but seems ok there.

is this proof that the bits are storing an effect that's affecting the sound from control into the ram of mqnplay ?

edit - quite like 3.73, don't find it too harsh

Still think 3.72 is better than 3.73.

uploaded mqndevinfo which outputs the device name and pin id, I'll try and make a hard coded mqnplay version if you post these details. The hard coded device version sounds better than the auto device versions.
