You seem to be quite keen on Jordi Savall, Mark; I can understand that.

Some solo piano music with a somewhat different flavour to it; music by Busoni....

Some music by Giovanni Benedetto Platti which includes a Cello Concerto, an Oboe Concerto and three Concerti Grossi....

This is the only disc that I have of this composer’s delightful music. I must track down some more.

<That looks very exciting Pepe but 2032 - I may just wait for the reissue box set on the Brilliant label LOL!!!>

I know Fergus, way too long, I even doubt that Giovanni Antonini would make it to the end.

Hi Fergus,
I have a subscription to a CD quality streaming service, Qobuz, and this has allowed a deep dive into Savalls music.
His catalog is very extensive and is of very high musical and sonic quality. He also covers a lot of esoteric sources which he blends with great skill.
I'm stunned by his productivity and dedication to HIP.
Many great youtube videos are also available.

Next up is:

I remember that you streamed a lot of your music Mark and it is great that your streaming service has access to such an extensive catalogue. There has been great affection for Maestro Savall around here over the years and not without reason too.
Continued enjoyment of the music!

Exceptional musicianship from Bertrand Chamayou in a very inventive programme consisting of a number of Liszt's transcriptions of a selection of Schubert's lieder coupled with the great Wanderer Fantasie and the three Klavierstücke (D.946) interspersed with relatively minor fare like the twelve Ländler (D.790) in which Chamayou finds hidden depths that are often skirted over unnoticed by other pianists.   There is a beautiful sense of understated thoughtfulness and searching reflection about this recital.  Chamayou is a pianist of delicacy and sensitivity whose earlier traversal of Liszt's masterpiece, Années de Pèlerinage, was one of my favourite recordings of recent years.  Perhaps the best reflection of his art may be found in his performance of the three late Klavierstücke, extraordinary works which, to me, represent Schubert's genius in microcosm in much the same way as Bach's motets present us with the most concentrated vision of that singular genius.
