Very good Dermot. However, when I was putting it away, I realized that I only have a total of four Vangelis albums on vinyl. I will have to work on that!!cybot wrote:

Here's to new beginnings Fergus :) There's one or two gaps in my own collection to tell the truth and a while ago when I listened to these albums I wasn't too impressed! You know things like Heaven & Hell, Albedo 0.37 etc. I used to own them years ago but that's another story.....fergus wrote:Very good Dermot. I quite like the ones that you have mentioned Dermot, particularly Heaven & Hell. Another one from around that time which I have on vinyl, and also like, is Spiral. One that I particularly want on vinyl is China. I have a few others on CD but the one album that I have heard of his and do not like is Beaubourg.

Heaven and Hell does have its moments alright particularly the Anderson track which is a thing of beauty. 'China' on the other hand is magnificent. I remember Hi Fi Answers giving it 100% for sound and music. Actually it's time I listened to his other albums from my own collection just to see if they still cut the mustard so to speak.....fergus wrote:cybot wrote: Here's to new beginnings Fergus :) There's one or two gaps in my own collection to tell the truth and a while ago when I listened to these albums I wasn't too impressed! Ah my very first Jimi opus waaaayyyy back in the day. Brilliant compilation too. Enjoy Shane :) BTW is it an American or English copy?
You wouldn't believe how much my own Jimi collection has mushroomed since that time! Just throwing a tape measure over it and it's almost two feet in lenght! And that's not including the box sets :)
