I installed it, didn't like it, uninstalled it.
Maybe I'm being dim, but why do people find it so difficult to post pics under normal circumstances?
(Am I just being cranky today?)

Much the same here but I didn't uninstall it. I just view the forums in the usual way. I'll probably have a good look at it at some stage but yeah, uploading pics was never a problem.

Maybe it's me being dim but anytime I try to link to a picture's link with the img tags, I don't get it displayed - just the unresolved link
OK this one worked - it's of an experiment that went wrong on 21st August (anniversary yesterday) 1945 in Los Alamos on Demon Core - the ball of plutonium used in the first atomic bomb. One of the scientists, Stolin, doing a critical mass test dropped a Beryllium brick on the core & caused it to go supercritical for about half a second - he died 25 days later of radiation posioning
Another mistake made a year later in the mass going supercritical was when a scientist slipped his screwdriver which was all that was keeping the two hemispheres apart. This experiment had the evocative & imaginative name "tickling the dragon's tail"

It makes science real - just a load of blokes doing crazy things & blowing stuff up, eh? Reminds me of the computer audio section :)Diapason wrote:I love a birra nuclear physics of a Friday evening. Great stuff, John.
Here's the other picture - remember this goes supercritical & becomes a nuclear explosion if this guy slips & the screwdriver is pulled out from between the two hemispheres of plutonium - crazy.
