Let me put your mind at ease, also 4.98 avx has a wonderfully controled and detailed bass. :-))

New version preference?
Have to listen a bit more.
The room acoustics in 4.96 sound a bit darker than in 4.82 256/128 nop, but they are of comparable 'level'. I mean there is the same amount of spatial reverb, but the tone is darker vs. lighter or more etherical in the 4.82. This probably means there is a bit less energy in the highest frequencies. I have a preference for the lighter character over the darker character, but that's just me. The details, control and tonal balance are all just as good.
Play 4.95 avx voice in the higher registers , trumpets , violins sound muted.
Play 5.02 avx these become much clearer , almost clinical
Play. 5.05 avx somewhere in between. Nice.
It gets complicated for me . Some versions of mqn bring out the best from certain tracks , whilst other versions do a wonderful job on other tracks , even from the same album
Glad I can now play avx, its good.
