The forum as it was........7 years ago

Post by DaveF »

Came across this bookmark on my old laptop tonight. Its the forum from way back in 2007. Some threads are not accessible but still plenty to browse through. Some familiar names there that are no longer with us.

The Equipment Review section was pretty busy back then. Quite interesting to see our views on hifi back then and how things have changed over the years.

Haha, I'll have to have a proper root through that later. Here's one that I could post in the system history thread: http://web.archive.org/web/200711160525 ... 1&t=000514

What a lovely find Dave, thanks for that. I see my posts from October and November 2007 of von Karajan's Mahler Five and Abbado's Mahler six with the BPO, that's where it all started for me.

I see the old Audioplan Kontrast mk2's in some of those pics. Didnt realise that the old ones came with a grill as the new ones dont. Mine dont even have a mesh protecting the tweeter either. Thats the way they come it seems.

Oh God. The ghosts of beards past coming back to haunt us all.

Michael has changed a bit in the interim too!
