If everyone is happy with 3.26 I'll make up the other versions
harshness can be a tricky one
Difficult to reduce harshness without loosing the best of the highs
Hope to get back testing mid wk
yea...
just need one incorrect voltage on mobo, things go harsh/dry. software/OS cannot solve it.
be careful. maybe things are supposed to sound harsh.
I've only got as far as 3.25 so far. I want to make a couple of comments about related issues.
I've been using and testing MQn for ages, though not as intensively as many here - a HUGE thanks to Gordon. I now realise I'm late to to Aleg's party! I'm running his Tasker setup as downloaded from his dropbox. Running 3.25 with and without Tasker the benefit of Tasker (affinity, clock and RT prio) is clear to hear. More depth, harmonics and richness; some slightly spitty vocals which often catch my ear are banished.
Also, Aleg looked at some of the errors I was getting yesterday when trying to run AVX. I've run AVX way back but it stopped working. On Aleg's suggestion I removed my Young USB driver files and reinstalled the driver. Previously I did a reinstall without full removal. Wunderbar - it works! Quite why AVX gave errors but SSE2 didn't is rather strange.
Thanks guys.
BTW, there's no harshness with 3.25 using Tasker, though there is without it. With Tasker I have a big grin on my face. :-))

Welcome aboard Madman btw there aren't 5999 of us yet so you could have picked no1!
Ctrl/Copy your music file and double click the mqn.bat file.
You will need to provide more detail on your operating system and mobo etc.Set up etc. The problem with this thread is that the answers are probably here but you will go mad before you find it. It is worth the effort as there are plenty of helpful folk who hopefully can resolve the initial teething problems. I still have issues with some of the versions on a laptop and if you followed any of this thread you will see the instruction set of your processor impacts what versions will work.
Thanks for the response. It's an ASUS u56e laptop with Intel Core i5 2430M running win7. I'm using JKDAC32. Have no problems with foobar, jplay, etc. I tried searching but didn't really get anywhere things seem to change so fast.

Hi one of our resident experts should confirm but I think Win7 is your problem. Windows 8 or 2012R2 is the requirement but I am sure one of the lads will confirm that. Gordon might advise which early version would work on Windows7 so you can at least have a taster and then decide if MQn is worth pursuing.
