2.61 sounds great. Not sure is it because I am repeating the same track but detail and richness in abundance here and just lovely tone to bass.sbgk wrote:uploaded 2.61 which has the same alignment as 2.55, think 2.60 was maybe too bass heavyJohn Dot wrote:Just can't stop listening! (2.60)
Maybe this going to be the great one.

Re: MQN
I listened to 2.55+1.4 (ok up to 24/192 on my system) and is very good, better in my view than 2.31+1.4, my previous reference. When I say better I'm referring to the sound as a whole and the emotion that it's able to communicate. When I try to compare different MQn versions I'm inclined to just listen music (better known tracks of different genres) and not any individual listening aspect. I think that chase every single technical aspect can be confusing.
(see this review http://www.stereomojo.com/Lampizator%20 ... Review.htm if you're interested in this view, it reinforced mine)
2.56+1.4 seems to me slightly better than 2.55+1.4, but it's redbook only.
2.55+1.4 is my new reference, I can't play avx or sse4
Not listened 2.62+1.4 yet.
Just for curiosity, I quickly listened to 2.73 448 intel raw background+2.71 448 10 again, my first reference when I approached MQn some months ago. The latest versions seem to me far better than 2.73 and this is good, cause it means that MQn it's improving over time, imho.
sbgk, what does "control 1.5 which is 1.0 with the 24/192 fixed" mean? Is 1.5 the direct successor of 1.4 as the number says or a different path? Thanks.

MQnLoad 0.9.14.0416 beta
CHG: Directory %LOCALAPPDATA%\MQnLoad isn't used anymore; configuration and temp files are now stored in subdirectory "Data"
CHG: Subdirectory "Codecs" isn't used anymore; ffmpeg.exe and flac.exe are now stored in subdirectory "Data"
CHG: Subdirectory "Temp" isn't used anymore; decoded wav files are now stored in subdirectory "Cache"
CHG: Several internal changes and rewritten parts of code
CHG: Quick Start Guide updated and converted to RTF instead of HTM
NEW: MQnLoad now takes care of mqncontrol.exe as well (not only mqnplay.exe)
NEW: Configuration of mqncontrol and mqnplay versions can be done independently for standard and hirez audio files
NEW: No need to copy selected files to clipboard anymore before using hotkey; pressing hotkey for playback sends keystroke "Ctrl+C" to active window before starting playback
NEW: Option to determine if actually used mqnplay and mqncontrol versions are shown in control window or not
NEW: Option to determine if cache of decoded files is deleted each time playback is started or not
NEW: Support for Musepack (mpc) files
As with this version of MQnLoad several data files and directories have changed, please do not copy this version over an older one. Instead do the following:
- Create a new empty folder
- Unpack mqnload.exe from Zip file into created folder
- Copy all mqncontrol and mqnplay versions, you are interested in, into created folder
- If you want to play encoded files (e.g. flac) copy ffmpeg.exe and/or flac.exe into a subdirectory of created folder named "Data"
Please refer to Quick Start Guide (mqnload.rtf) if you don't have these executable files
- Double click on new mqnload.exe once. This will bring up the options dialog. Make your selections if needed, confirm by click on OK (even if no options were changed).
Please refer to Quick Start Guide for an explanation of every single option!

Re: MQN
Last night I tried to do some short testing of 2.62 + control 100000(did not tried 2.60 and 2.61), but soon as I started the music I could not stop listening!
With 2.62 I heard some details that I never did before and I thought that I heard them all! ;-)
Very clean and detailed.
