Unfortunately nothing above works on my Dac. I really haven't done more than basic tweaks, so the clock is 46440.

uploaded an optimised version of squeezelite-win.exe and portaudio_x86.exe, just copy them into the bin directory without renaming.

optimisation settings and basic render loop tidy, think it makes a difference.

next will look at ks callback function and try and compile as 64 bit.

am just using the -b 2000:2000 option, no longer using the -a setting.

sound seems faster with the optimised squeezelite

I know I'm generally overenthusiastic about any new version, but this sounds quite nice, showing real promise.

another benefit is that MMCSS can be stopped and disabled when using wdm-ks, need to remove the dependency in audiosrv first (edit registry)

I can hear improvements, but I will leave it to the experts to say how and how much.
It seems to be that there is a price tag associated to it too. I'm not sure if it's this new version or something else, but I can't stream Qobuz or most of the Internet stations including Naim and Linn?
Radio Paradise at 320kbps works only.

I disabled MMCSS without editing the Registry and it worked fine (WS2012 R2).

Please could you state exactly what registry settings need amending and to what values?

Thanks

removing the dependency that audiosrv has on mmcss, maybe you did this before.

I just figured out something that appears to be a bug in the MQn WASAPI.

I noticed MQn got stuck on a very few of my tracks.
Today I think I found which tracks that might be.

It appears it happens on 44.1/24-bit file which are very small. E.g. I got a few that don't last even 1 minute.
Media-info about one of those tracks:
General
Complete name : M:\Mompou, Frederico (1893-1987)\piano\Jordi Maso - Mompou - Oevres pour piano (integrale) (1998-2011) [44_16]\Volume 4\08. Musica Callada Premier Cahier - VIII. Semplice.wav
Format : Wave
File size : 11.1 MiB
Duration : 43s 966ms
Overall bit rate mode : Constant
Overall bit rate : 2 117 Kbps
Encoded by : dBpoweramp Release 14.4
Recorded date : 18
Writing application : dBpoweramp Release 14.4

Audio
Format : PCM
Format settings, Endianness : Little
Format settings, Sign : Signed
Codec ID : 1
Duration : 43s 966ms
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 2 117 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz
Bit depth : 24 bits
Stream size : 11.1 MiB (100%)
Resampling this file to 88.1/24 resolves the problem.

@Gordon:
Is this something you might still have a look at?

It is occuring with "mqnplay.exe 2.71 intel rb 1024 sw" and "mqncontrol 1024".
I also noticed yesterday that mqncontrol was high on CPU (about 13%) when it got stuck.

Cheers

are you playing them by themselves ? should be ok as part of an album. I guess the resample increased the amount of data.

Either way they get stuck, so also when part of an album playback.
That was where I first noticed it. The file load count just gets stuck on a certain track number.

Today on another album I had it again on three subsequent tracks that were all very small, and that's when I realised it had to do with the tracksize.

The same track as 44.1/16 loads just fine but in 44.1/24 it won't. So I looked for a way to increase file size, and upsampling it to 88.2/24 seems to have done the trick.
But it just isn't doable to upsample every 44.1-track to 88.2, esp. because I don't know where the boundary exactly is.

Is this something you can have a look at?

Cheers
