...2.55 is most stable SQ. tested it for a week. it is musical no matter how much i abuse my PC haha

each time when i want improve vibration need bulid 5-10 versions, very hard with soundstage. 2.55 also make me pleasant, it have all good things. other versions have lesser.

difficult for you indeed. my job is enjoy your player!

just installed the new 7 by pkshan. optimized exactly as stated on pkshan blog. no less no more. no graphic driver. no network driver. no win update.

30 mins listening.

compare to my 2012:
-2.55 sounds fine. CD sound. SQ much more stable. treble is 1000% better. transparency is 50% better. vocal about same more stable. soundstage is flat. a little bit 3D effect. sound is 100% uncompressed. width is small. height and depth 100%.
-XA1060A is totally natural. flat and simple. width also small. CD sound. transparency is best i ever heard. a bit too shiny. mellow. very refined. you have to try it!
-bass has good layers. with this 7, treble>bass. wasn't paying attention to bass hehe...
-sound is 3D. soundstage not 3D.

-2012/R2 does have serious issues with treble hmm...

now comes the real test. going install everything i need. see if SQ can sustain hehe. (last time i tried SQ went bad. that's why i am using win8/2012)

tried XA1060A, but on my OS its soundstage seem not good as XA1000, sound free/open, sometime not compressed. not stable in my case, noise. think need tweak OS if running XA. my win8 now very dirty, hehe...

XA1060A sucks on my 2012. i like XA1030A.

XA1060A on pkshan's 7 is the king.

alright, just installed graphic driver. bad things start happening again!!

SQ starts to sound like win7. not good!!!

win7 digital bass is coming back!

XA sucks at bass. lekt player much much better real bass. still a little bit "win7 bass"

i hate and love this pkshan win7.

going spend today and tomorrow making this win7 listenable. the treble is 1000% better than my 2012.

give up again on pkshan win7

no graphic driver:
heavenly SQ. +50% transparent sound. CD player SQ. natural+natural. super treble. super mellow. SQ is light like feather. soundstage is flat/simple/non-3D. sound is 3D.

after install graphic driver:
rubbish SQ... -100% transparent. sticky. fat+heavy. 4% compressed sound. treble tune soared... a little blur.

heaven into hell... no graphic driver no daily use... unusable... back to 2012

got inspired by pkshan win7. re-evaluating all my tweaks. removed all 3D tweaks. 2.55 starts to sound unnatural stage....

'natural' 3D was just lucky... less 3D = better texture better everything. less 3D tweak = XA is correct.

3D is root of all evil haha

now 2.58.1 is great. just need the fix the height. 0.5% compressed.

You still getting your 3D experience off headphones JC or have you moved to standalone speakers yet?
If it is 3D from headphones that you are referring to then I can kind of understand the thread!

3D as in 3D with boarder, 3D without boarder.

natural 3D has no boarder, regardless how artificial headphone produces soundstage.

i use v2.58.1 ussualy, a bit compressed from up-side, but soundstage ~like my CD player, SQ better, i feel nice bass.
3D-non3D..., what soundstage is correct? hm..., think need take good expensive CDplayer as template. seem i understand what you think about 3D, boarders,...

uploaded v2.59 256 , sound non-compressed, non-3D?, i think more correct than 2.58.1. but SQ better?
try it for comparision.
