Forum rules
Note that Tir Na HiFi does not take any responsibility for transactions arranged or carried out here. It is up to the seller and buyer to check each other out! Please be sensible folks, and if there is something you think is wrong, let a mod know, OK?

To make it as clear as we can, here are some simple guidelines:

a) like any forum, the success of tirnahifi is entirely dependent on discussion. All members are encouraged to participate in discussion of music, hifi, etc.
b) tirnahifi is not designed to be, nor intended to be, a marketplace. Any member who uses the site merely for selling will be looked on suspiciously.
c) those members who choose to sell on the site should be aware that the mods do keep an eye on the stuff for sale, plus the demeanour of the seller. Sometimes we may lock/delete/ban a sales thread on this basis.
d) honesty is paramount in all selling transactions. Commercial sellers who label themselves as such are accepted at the discretion of the moderating team.
e) All ads have to include information about age, price, provenance, etc.
f) THE MODERATING TEAM RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY ADS AT THEIR DISCRETION.
g) Commercial sellers should approach any of the moderation team in advance of posting. First time commercial posts without moderator contact will be removed.

Not sure what the sarcasm is about...
I was just trying to express a sense of loss in selling my turntable.

The Rega Planar III is a simple and beautifully engineered product.
Any product which still sounds so good after nearly 30 years is exceptional.

Shannan - its a kind of an inside joke. Si has been saying for years he doesn't think a tt sounds as good as cd, doesn't like surface noise etc. Yet we all know deep down he really wants one and if he got one he'd be worse than any of the rest of us with it!

I know I was thread crapping.... Someone got a great deal there...

Ah, I was simply surprised that you didn't respond to my PM from last Sunday to tell me it was sold to somebody else. But not to worry, I'm sure another opportunity to join the ranks of vinyl lovers will present itself at some stage.

Ninja edit: and yes, I'll be worse than ANY of you when that time comes! ;)

Yeah, somebody got a great bargain there all right. What's the story with the LP's, are they gone as well or are they still up for grabs? If so, what price are they going for now?

Sorry Simon..... pulled the rug out from under you there, with my lightening fast purchase. I had been given a mission by my brother-in-law to find him a turntable about 6 months back, and since decided I needed to do the same for myself.
Thanks again Seamus, enjoying the rebirth of my vinyl collection after a 20+ year break.

Ciaran.
