Might be worth going in to Device Manager and Sound and Video and disable any audio devices not required in there, there may be an audio output on DVI or something like that hogging the audio output.

had checked that. Only devices are the RME devices, so anything should show on their mixer software. Jplay has no problem.
The difference between JPlay and mqn/lekt is that the devices are selectable in JPlay whereas AFAIK, mqn/lekt uses Windows "default".
Had a similar issue with windows8 on a laptop. Jplay played fine. Try downloading mqn again and start afresh possible you have an issue with the version downloaded. BTW I have mqn working on this laptop fine now.

Thanks for the suggestion. I use an Install directory, which has all drivers & programs within, that I copy onto USB Sticks. So same programs / devices are implemented. mqn & lekt play nicely on R1 stick but not on R2 stick.
Known differences:
1. OS
2. Install method.
3. USB stick (same model though).
